The Role

Being a high-energy, enthusiastic person with a results driven and “can do” attitude, you will have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, excellent relationship building skills and you will have had several years of experience in a B2B Senior Marketing role, ideally within in an ICT company.

You believe in doing things differently. Rather than following the outdated “sugar rush” marketing campaign approach like most B2B organisations, you understand and are passionate about inbound marketing techniques such as content marketing, social media and lead nurturing. You may have had some experience with marketing automation, but you certainly understand that the way buyers search for information online has fundamentally changed, and you have the skills and experience to reach them in the right places, with the right message, at the right time of their buying process.

As Marketing Director, the job will entail the following key functions, essential to leading our marketing practice and ensuring our business growth:



Responsibilities


Inbound Strategy - ensuring an "Always - On" Marketing Engine


  • We have recently undergone some strategic changes to approach our marketing in a more holistic, sustainable, long-term structure
  • It will be your responsibility to drive and contribute to the new initiatives by continuing with the internal processes and structures we have put in place relating to:
  • Sales & marketing alignment
  • Content marketing (thought-leadership)
  • Content creation
  • Content distribution
  • Social media (particularly Linkedin for social selling)
  • Lead nurturing
  • PR
  • Integrated campaigns



  • This includes running weekly team meetings, managing the content calendar, managing the events calendar, staying on top of & directing the Company around content ideas and thought-leadership, and ensuring that our “always-on” marketing engine remains well fueled!




Campaign and Vendor Management


  • As well as inbound marketing activities, we also run multiple outbound marketing campaigns throughout the year, to achieve specific lead-generation objectives
  • Part of this management involves building strong relationships with our vendors to ensure we are initiating joint marketing activities, as well as running our own
  • You will be overseeing, and will contribute to, ensuring that these campaigns each have a solid strategy, fully formed target markets and buyer personas, on-target messaging, and that anything we send out is unique to us and what we do (not “out of a box)
  • This will include managing a budget for campaigns, working closely with vendors who may be part funding campaigns, overseeing suppliers, ensuring successful campaign execution, and driving follow up actions with the sales team



Management and Process


  • You will be responsible for ensuring our marketing systems and processes are running smoothly and all talk to one another. This will be a mix of our social media tools, CRM and marketing automation platforms
  • You will be in charge of overall marketing budget management so will need to supply regular budget and ROI reports to senior management to track progress
  • As well as being instrumental in delivery of some marketing activities, you will also have a team of marketers, content writers, agencies, PR etc to manage who you need to keep working efficiently, providing you with everything you need to manage a successful marketing practice
  • These include:

  • Internal Marketing Manager
  • Internal Social Media  / Telemarketing / Assistant
  • Content creator
  • PR agency
  • Creative agencies

Desired Skills and Experience

 The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and experiences:


  • Marketing / business / communications related degree
  • At least 15+ years experience
  • Experience in B2B marketing, ideally in IT/ICT, but this isn’t essential 
  • Experience with inbound and outbound marketing techniques, including digital marketing, SEO/SEM, content strategy, social media and lead nurturing etc.
  • Used to working closely with Sales, to drive better outcomes for them
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence to drive a whole Company movement, ensuring everyone is assisting you with what you need e.g. thought-leadership
  • Proven track record of accomplishment in developing successful marketing strategies and plans
  • Experience with managing multiple projects, brands and campaigns
  • Persistence and resourcefulness are also important if you’re to get through to, and engage with, busy senior people
  • Must be independent, self-motivated and success-driven, yet willing to work within a team environment.



Desirable criteria

  • Experience working with CMS such as Wordpress, Drupal
  • Experience with working with email or automation platforms e.g. Mailchimp or automation such as HubSpot or Marketo
  • Experience with working with CRM such as MS Dynamics
  • Some amiliarity with HTML, Photoshop and InDesign
